Are Water Pollution Activities Present in Your Neighborhood?

STORM WATER POLLUTION happens when wastewater (also known as runoff) combines with fertilizers, pesticides, motor oil, litter, pet waste, green waste, cigarettes, soaps, paint, chemicals and vehicles fluids enters into the storm drain. These flows then empty, directly into a nearby river, lake, stream, pond, wetland or other water body.

Best storm water solutions:

  • Don’t dump old paints or chemicals, take them to a household hazardous collection event.
  • Repair vehicle leaks
  • Clean up after your pet.
  • Pick up all leaves and greenwaste.
  • Don’t litter, use trash receptacles.
  • Don’t over water.

Remember, only let rain down the storm drain. Please report illegal storm drain disposal, call 1.800.506.2555.
