JURUPA VALLEY RESIDENTS will have more space to browse for books and access to more technology at the new Louis Robidoux Library. The library named for one of the area’s first big landowners and leaders is located at the corner of Mission Boulevard and Riverview Drive in Rubidoux.
Offering more than 22,000 square feet of space and an additional 16,000 square feet of administrative offices, it is the largest county-owned library and also serves as the headquarters for the library system.
The new facility is twice as big as the former Robidoux Library in collection and facility size, and will provide technological improvements as well as improvements aimed at making it more accessible to people with disabilities.

Patrons will now have access to about 70,000 books and audiovisual volumes, 20 Internet work stations, computer work stations, a community meeting room and study rooms.
Computer education, literacy improvements and related community activities will be offered at the library.

Louis Robidoux made large contributions to the area.
In 1843, he bought the Jurupa Rancho, covering much of the area now known as Rubidoux. He was the first chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and a county judge.
The new library celebrated its Grand Opening on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Nearly 3,500 people were in attendance.
